Inner Prosperity, a Key to Success

By Patricia Young

Usually, when we hear the word “Prosperity” we tend to think of financial abundance, material possessions and external factors that contribute to our happiness and success in life.

But what about “Inner Prosperity”? Have you ever thought about what that means?

Without Inner Prosperity, we can have financial wealth, material comfort, and still be in a perpetual search to, continuously, gather more and more of this superficial wealth in our lives, and our happiness is, basically, dependent on expectations and results outside of ourselves.

It is nice to be financially comfortable and have nice things, who doesn’t like that?  But, feeling Inner Prosperity is when you are connected to your genuine self,  you’re not driven by fear. It’s when you are guided by your inner wisdom, when you’re kind to yourself (and to others), when your heart can open up and be filled with joy, with feelings of gratitude and internal peace, self-love and self-trust, when you let yourself be curious and creative.

Inner Prosperity is one of the main keys to success. If we don’t feel that we are enough in all circumstances, if we don’t value, love and trust ourselves, we will be relying on external factors, based on material gains, which are really meaningless.

If you’re not doing it already, make a conscious decision and start cultivating your Inner Prosperity. Just think of the gifts that you have been given. Life itself is a gift! There’s always something to be grateful for every day.

Think of all of your accomplishments, keep a journal and write down, every day, every little success and why they were your triumphs. By doing this you become more mindful and you’ll value yourself more. You’ll be kinder to yourself and, naturally, you’ll grow and evolve as a person and as a professional.

Remember, we get what we focus our attention on…When you choose to focus on cultivating your Inner Prosperity, more good things will come your way!

A prosperous and successful person is one whose heart is filled with Inner Prosperity and Spiritual Cultivation. Someone  whose words, thoughts and deeds reflect the alignment to their genuine self.

I love inspiring posts like these. Having enough financially doesn’t mean you are prosperous if on the inside you are empty. I’d rather have inner prosperity over financial any day.

I loved this post and I agree that we can’t forget the little successes in life because they are just as important the big ones. Great post!

So true, people relate prosperity to money. To be happy and comfortable with yourself and what you are doing is so important. Definitely not worrying about money would be uplifting too.

Inner prosperity is much more important than external. As you said we could have everything on the outside, but if the inside is lacking we will never truly be happy.

This is a great post, Patricia! ~ I love the concept of “inner prosperity.” ~ Everything we attract on the outside really does stem from how we’re feeling on the inside. It creates a ripple effect - all from the inside out. :-)

Another “feel good” article! I have understood the inner prosperity mentality for awhile. Unfortunately, it isn’t always shared equally within this family. Even tonight, stating my point of view was pleasant. I really didn’t want to just “to suit ones own” attitude because they are my family! So I am trying to resolve my own inner conflict from that. I still hold that we do far more having “prosperity mindfulness” than without!

    Patricia,

Inner prosperity is so important; something I’ve been working at in my life journey. I’m very driven and goal-focused and remind myself that my inner happiness and joy/peace needs attending to in the process as well. Through my life’s path and diligent quest for joy and self-expression and my training as a speech-language pathologist, I’ve incorporated my gifts into my work; empowering others to express their unique brilliant selves through accent reduction and public speaking and visibility training.

Thank you so much for the work you’re doing and for this article on such a critical component of self-empowerment.

Love the idea of the journal and writing down every little success. Nothing like tracking it all done and being able to reflect on all the joys that happened.

    Patricia,
Great article and totally agree about the inner prosperity. WE are constantly trying to be enough and the best in our society. Trusting that we are enough and to be content with our inner being is so important!

This is a great article Patricia, I think honestly, that you’re never going to be happy unless you’re living from the inside out. Meaning that you’re living with your true authentic self. I think if you can align your values with what you love to do then you are happier person. I think sometimes the problem comes in, when we don’t like overdoing. But we have to do it anyway and so were just going through the motions not really living our authentic selves. I enjoyed reading this.Thank you.
